Designer by Default workshop

This workshop is an invitation for everyone to co-create a space that values neurodivergent perspectives and lived experience, transforming hidden designs into solutions that are universally beneficial, fostering inclusivity and supporting all ways of thinking. .

Designer by default workshop:

  • Hosted by: Daisy Dawson  

  • Format: Online (1.5 hours) or Live (2 hours)  

  • Audience: Open to all, with a focus on neurodivergent perspectives

  • Using the award winning inclusive club methodology

What’s inside?

Introduction through Making 

  •  Begin with a hands-on activity to foster connection, creativity, and open communication & inclusivity.

Exploration of the Designer by Default Theory

  • Engage in an interactive tape exercise to deepen understanding of the "design by default" concept, experiencing it in a tangible, relatable way.

Sharing Lived Experiences

  •  Participants embody the designer by default mind set & share personal stories and strategies, uncovering hidden adaptations and informal designs that support diverse ways of thinking.

“Rest is Work”Moment

  • A dedicated break to reflect, rest, and recharge—acknowledging the essential role of rest in creativity and productivity. This pause demonstrates that neuro-inclusive practices, like built-in rest, benefit all.

Transforming Lived Experience into Design Proposals : 

  • Using insights from shared experiences, participants brainstorm design possibilities, identifying how adaptive strategies can be applied in broader contexts.

*Design Thinking in Groups & space design

  • Split into small groups for deeper discussion and development of detailed design proposals, fostering design,teamwork and inclusive thinking.

We understand that every group and situation is unique, so we offer flexible pricing tailored to your needs. Our starting prices are:

  • Online Workshops (1.5 hours): From €250 per session

  • Live, Onsite Workshops (2 hours): From €500 per session
